Activation of CO2 by phosphinoamide hafnium complexes.

چکیده
Hf-phosphinoamide cation complexes behave as metal-based frustrated Lewis pairs and bind one or two equivalent of CO2 and in as well can activate CO2 in a bimetallic fashion to give a pseudo-tetrahedral P2CO2 fragment linking two Hf centres.

Group (IV) Metallocene Complexes with Bulky ω-aryloxyalkyl-Substituted Indenyl Ligands as Catalyst Precursors for Homogeneous Ethylene Polymerization
A series of seven new complexes of zirconium and hafnium with bulky ω-aryloxyalkyl substituted indenyl ligands were synthesized and characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. These complexes were activated with methylaluminoxane and tested for homogeneous ethylene polymerization. The zirconium catalysts showed higher activities than their hafnium an...
متن کاملEffect of ligand modification on the reactivity of phosphinoamide-bridged heterobimetallic Zr/Co complexes.
The effect of modifying the N-aryl substituent (aryl = mesityl vs. m-xylyl) of the phosphinoamide ligands linking Zr and Co in tris(phosphinoamide)-linked heterobimetallic complexes has been investigated. Treatment of the metalloligand ((i)Pr2PNXyl)3ZrCl (2) (Xyl = m-xylyl) with CoI2 affords the iodide-bridged product ICo((i)Pr2PNXyl)2(μ-I)Zr(η(2-i)Pr2PNXyl) (3) rather than the C3-symmetric iso...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of organo-scandium and yttrium complexes stabilized by phosphinoamide ligands.
Addition of three equivalents of phosphinoamine, (ArNHP(i)Pr(2)) [Ar = 3,5-dimethylphenyl] to M(CH(2)SiMe(3))(3)(THF)(2) [M = Sc, Y] precursors gives complexes of the form (ArNP(i)Pr(2))(3)M(THF) [M = Sc, Y]. In the case of scandium, addition of Sc(CH(2)SiMe(3))(3)(THF)(2) to (ArNP(i)Pr(2))(3)Sc(THF) affords (ArNP(i)Pr(2))(2)Sc(CH(2)SiMe(3))(THF), which has been isolated and structurally charac...
متن کاملOxidant-free direct coupling of internal alkynes and 2-alkylpyridine via double C-H activations by alkylhafnium complexes.
We have developed a novel oxidant-free direct cross-coupling reaction of 2,6-lutidine and internal alkynes leading to five-membered carbocyclic compounds mediated by nonmetallocene cationic hafnium alkyl complexes. Mechanistic studies of the coupling reaction showed that the reaction begins with C(sp(3))-H bond activation via σ-bond metathesis, after which the coordinatively unsaturated hafnium...
متن کاملSynthesis and investigation of the metal-metal interactions in early/late heterobimetallic complexes linking group 5 imido fragments to Co(I).
Phosphinoamide ligands have been utilized to link a Co(I) center to a Nb or Ta imido fragment. The resulting heterobimetallic complexes, ICo(Ph(2)PN(i)Pr)(3)M=N(t)Bu, have weakened dative metal-metal interactions as a result of the strongly donating imido ligand. These complexes can be reduced by 2 electrons to generate dinitrogen-bound complexes.
